CLAYTON – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office suspects celebratory gunfire as the reason a Clayton area home was damaged.
On New Year’s Eve night, someone fired a gun into the air on Barber Mill Road, outside the Clayton city limits. The bullet pierced the roof of the a home, leaving a hole in the roof and her ceiling.
Authorities do not believe it was an intentional act, rather irresponsible gun safety.
Luckily, the 84 year-old resident was not injured. Authorities do not have any suspects.
