Beginning July 2025, library operations and a curated collection of materials will be available at the former Lipscomb’s Learning Center, located at 446 E Second St. in Clayton.

This move ensures the community can continue to access essential library resources and services during the renovation, which will modernize and enhance the existing space to better serve visitors of all ages.

“The former Lipscomb’s Learning Center is a great fit for our temporary location,” said Library Manager Melissa Poole. “It gives us the flexibility to continue offering core services and programs in a space that’s accessible, welcoming, and familiar to many in our community. We’re excited to be able to serve our patrons during this transition while we prepare for an even better, renovated library experience.”

The current relocation window will run from May through June, and during this time access to physical items will be paused. However, the library’s digital collection will remain fully available, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, and online learning resources. Library cardholders can continue accessing these materials online.

To support a smooth transition, the following key dates have been announced:

· April 14, 2025 – Adult Room Closes

· April 28, 2025 – All Programming Moves to The Clayton Center and Various Town Locations

· May 5, 2025 – Library Building Fully Closes to the Public

· May–June 2025 – No Access to Physical Items While Library Relocates (Digital Collection Remains Available)

· July 2025 – Temporary Location Opens at 446 E Second St.

All programs, including the summer reading program, craft nights, story time, etc., will be held at various locations throughout the Town. Exact dates and locations for these services will be shared in the coming weeks.
