Cub Scout Packs To Host Free Community Fun Day In Benson

BENSON – Two local Cub Scout packs will team up Saturday, Oct. 24, for a free Community Fun Day at the American Legion in Benson.

Cub Scout Pack 19 of Benson and Cub Scout Pack 190 of Four Oaks will host the event from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Activities will include games, a bounce house and a “Tent City,” where families can learn more about Scouting. From 1 to 3 p.m., the tents will be transformed into a “Tent-A-Treat” for children. Costumes are not required.

Free hot dogs, drinks and snacks will be available beginning at 11:30 a.m. while supplies last. Organizers said a cake walk may also be held.

The event is free and open to the community.

Families interested in Scouting will also have an opportunity to learn more about programs available for children from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Organizers will collect new toys during the event to be donated to children in Western North Carolina. Those wishing to participate in the toy drive are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy.
