Date Announced For 8th Annual JoCo Latino Festival

SELMA – Latinos Activate JOCO has announced the date for the 8th Annual JOCO Latino Festival, a vibrant celebration of Latino culture and community engagement. The festival is scheduled for Sunday, May 12, 2024, from 1:00pm. to 6:00pm.

This year’s festival will be held at Raiford Street and Waddell Street, with comprehensive road closures to ensure a safe and festive atmosphere for all attendees.

Specifically, the closures will be effective from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on May 12. Raiford Street will be closed from the intersection of Oak Street and N Raiford St to Anderson St and from S Raiford St to Railroad St. Additionally, Waddell Street will see closures from the intersection of N Pollock and West Waddell St to the intersection of E Waddell St and N Webb St. These closures will facilitate the placement of numerous food trucks along Waddell Street, showcasing diverse Latino culinary offerings. To accommodate festival-goers, ample parking options will be available throughout the town.

The festival will also feature vendor along Raiford Street, showcasing a variety of goods and services, and live entertainment at the intersection of S Raiford St and Railroad St, featuring musical and dance performances celebrating Latino heritage.

Proceeds from the festival will support Latinos Activate JoCo’s initiatives to empower the Latino community in Johnston County. Beyond a celebration, the festival enhances community understanding and engagement and supports local businesses.
