NEWTON GROVE, N.C. — A southern Johnston County man is being held under a $1 million bond after authorities said a three-month undercover narcotics investigation allegedly uncovered methamphetamine trafficking activity at his home.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said deputies executed a search warrant on May 15 at the residence of 56-year-old James Alan Blackmon at 453 Thornton Road near Newton Grove.

The operation was conducted by the sheriff’s office narcotics division into the alleged sale and distribution of crystal methamphetamine.

During the search, agents reportedly seized approximately 257 grams of crystal methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and 64 firearms.

Blackmon was arrested and charged with 20 drug-related offenses, including trafficking methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, and possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance.
