Employees Assaulted During Snatch And Grab Robbery

SMITHFIELD – Police have arrested two suspects in connection with a snatch and grab robbery on Outlet Center Drive in Smithfield.   Around 5:05pm Saturday, July 4th, two suspects entered 252 Kicks, reprtedly grabbed three pair of Air Jordan shoes valued at $963, and began to run towards the front door.

Three alert store employees attempted to block the doorway but were pushed to the floor by the suspects.

Smithfield Police responded and began investigating as other officers started searching for the getaway vehicle. A short time later the suspect’s car was located and stopped on Hill Street. Police said they found the stolen Air Jordan shoes in the vehicle.

Police reportedly found $2,297 in cash, 3.4 grams of suspected cocaine, 25.2 grams of suspected marijuana, digital scales, and four iPhones in the vehicle. All the items were seized.

Trevor Brad McDougald, 25, of Thain Place, Smithfield was charged with common law robbery, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, communicating threats and disorderly conduct.  He was incarcerated in the Johnston County Jail on a $750,000 secured bond.

Kadarius Laron Peoples, 21, of River Road, Selma was charged with common law robbery, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, and resisting a public officer. He was jailed on a $500,000 secured bond.

Tonaka Antwan Green Jr., 26, of Byrd’s Mill Road, Erwin was not charged with the robbery but was charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, and resisting a public officer.  Green was held on a $100,000 secured bond.
