Fire Damages Four Oaks Mobile Home

A mobile home was damaged by flames this morning (Monday). The fire was reported around 10:20am in the 400 block of Highway 701 South.

Four Oaks Fire Chief Barry Stanley said firefighters arrived on the scene and discovered the kitchen area of the home was on fire. Crews from the Four Oaks, Smithfield and Strickland’s Crossroads Fire Departments quickly extinguished the blaze.  The fire damage was confined to the kitchen area, while the remainder of the home sustained smoke damage, Chief Stanley said.

One person was inside the home when the fire started. They were checked out at the scene by paramedics but were not transported to the hospital.

The Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office responded and is investigating the cause.  Officials said the fire appears accidental but the exact cause remains under investigation.
