Garner Police, SBI Execute Search Warrants Tied To Child Exploitation Cases

GARNER, N.C. — Two men were arrested Thursday following separate Internet Crimes Against Children investigations conducted by the Garner Police Department with assistance from several law enforcement agencies.

Authorities said officers executed two residential search warrants on May 7 as part of ongoing investigations involving alleged online crimes against children.

According to police, Kevin Mikael Jones was charged with 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

William Gilbert Barfield also was charged with 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Raleigh Police Department and Wake County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigations and execution of the search warrants, police said.

Officials said the investigations remain active and ongoing.

In a statement, Garner police said the department’s Special Investigation Unit “remains committed to protecting children and safeguarding the community through proactive investigations and strong partnerships with local, state, and regional law enforcement agencies.”

  1. I understand Russia is still accepting front line volunteers.

    Doesn’t make sense to feed, house and provide care for people such as that.
