Grocery Store Employee Accused Of Stealing Gift Cards And Snacks

CLAYTON – A former employee at Harris Teeter, at 67 Flowers Crossroads Way, has been arrested by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.

On January 13, 2024, loss prevention at Harris Teeter reported to authorities an employee had allegedly been stealing gift cards and snack food items. The employee would reportedly scan and activate gift cards but would not pay for the items. The thefts started in November 2023, according to a report.

Altogether, 18 gift cards valued at $855.85 and 42 food snacks valued at $90.14 were stolen. The items had a combined value of $945.99.

Gabriel Luke Adams, age 18, of Selma was charged with felonious larceny by an employee. Adams as released on a $5,000 bond.
