Kindergarten Registration Remains Open For 2026-2027 School Year

SMITHFIELD, N.C. – Johnston County Public Schools (JCPS) is welcoming its newest learners, as kindergarten registration for the 2026-2027 school year remains open. Parents and families with children who will be five years old on or before August 31, 2026, are encouraged to begin the enrollment process and take the first step toward their child’s educational journey.

Parents can complete the registration application through the JCPS enrollment webpage. The online application takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. Families should gather the necessary enrollment documents before beginning the application so they are prepared to upload them.

Once an online enrollment application is completed, parents and guardians will receive an email confirmation indicating that the application was successfully submitted. Those who need assistance with the enrollment process or would like to schedule an appointment can access additional support through the JCPS enrollment webpage.

As parents and families prepare their children for this exciting milestone, JCPS encourages them to complete registration promptly. Kindergarten is an important first step in a student’s educational journey, and completing registration helps parents, students, and schools prepare for a successful start to the new school year.
