Mecklenburg County Businessman Charged In State Tax Case

RALEIGH, N.C. – Mecklenburg County businessman Adam Feinberg, 53, of Cornelius, NC, was arrested on May 15, 2026, on state tax charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue. He was charged with one count of felony Embezzlement of State Property.

Indictments allege that Feinberg, President of Web Deals Direct LLC, did knowingly, willfully, and feloniously aid and abet the LLC to embezzle, misapply or convert to it’s own use, approximately $67,327.81 in North Carolina Sales Taxes from July 1, 2018, through January 31, 2020. During this period, Feinberg was the responsible person for the business and was under a duty to collect, hold in trust, and remit North Carolina Sales Taxes to the North Carolina Department of Revenue.

Feinberg appeared before a Wake County magistrate and was placed under a $15,000 secured bond. A first appearance is scheduled for June 8, 2026, in Wake County Superior Court in Raleigh.

The charges against Feinberg resulted from an investigation by special agents with the Department’s Criminal Investigations Division in Raleigh.
