Meth Lab Found Inside Johnston County Home

ANGIER – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said they located a methamphetamine lab inside a home. Narcotic agents were conducting an undercover operation, Friday morning, and made a traffic stop.

During the vehicle stop agents reportedly seized methamphetamine from two people. Information gathered during the traffic stop allowed them to obtain a search warrant for a home in the 1200 block of Ennis Road, Angier, a Johnston County address. The meth lab was found inside the home during the execution of the search warrant.

The NC State Bureau of Investigation responded to clean up the toxic lab.

Two people are facing charges stemming from the traffic stop. Shannon Lee McGee, age 40, of Ennis Road, Angier and Christopher Lee Elliott, age 37, of Smith Road, Smithfield were both charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities said the investigation into the meth lab was still ongoing and charges are pending.
