Mobile Home Fire Displaces Four People, Injures Firefighter

JOHNSTON COUNTY — Firefighters from four departments battled cold temperatures and gusty winds Saturday afternoon while extinguishing a mobile home fire on Braswell Road that displaced a family of four and injured a firefighter.

Fire departments from Brogden, Pine Level, Princeton and Selma were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of a working fire. Crews worked under challenging conditions as they brought the blaze under control.

Three adults and one child were displaced by the fire. The American Red Cross is assisting the family with temporary housing and other immediate needs.

One firefighter was injured and transported to a hospital. Officials said the injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening.

Johnston County Fire Marshal Travis Johnson said the fire was ruled accidental. Investigators determined the cause was an electrical malfunction in the area of the clothes dryer.
