Motorcyclist Injured In Chase Arrested After Hospital Release
JOHNSTON COUNTY – A Wake County man was taken into custody just hours after being released from the hospital where he had been recovering from injuries sustained during a high-speed motorcycle crash late last month.

Allen David Wendel, of Cary, was arrested on October 7 and placed in the Johnston County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond. His arrest follows a chase that occurred during the early morning hours of September 24, when a Johnston County sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop him for speeding.
According to officials, the incident began around 2:15 a.m. on NC Highway 50 near Veterans Parkway. A deputy on patrol clocked a motorcycle traveling at 77 mph in a 55 mph zone. When the deputy attempted a traffic stop, the rider reportedly accelerated instead of pulling over, reaching speeds up to 120 mph during the pursuit.
The chase continued onto Mount Pleasant Road, where Wendel reportedly lost control of the motorcycle and was ejected. He was treated on the scene by Johnston County EMS and transported to WakeMed with non-life-threatening injuries.
Following his recovery, Wendel was served with multiple charges, including felony fleeing to elude arrest, felony possession of heroin, reckless driving, driving with a revoked license, and numerous traffic violations. Authorities said he was also operating the motorcycle without insurance, proper registration, or a motorcycle endorsement.
The motorcycle involved in the crash was seized by deputies.

Why do they arrest after release
That way, the defendant is responsible for all medical costs before arrest, not the taxpayers.
He should of left before release then
