In November 2020, the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office located human remains on Corbett Road. The remains were sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office and in May 2021 were identified as Mr. Graham. That same month, Anthony Corbett was charged with murder.

Today (Thursday), after pleading guilty in Sampson County Court to the murder of Jimmy Graham, Corbett was sentenced to serve 276 to 344 months in prison. Corbett is currently serving an unrelated federal prison sentence for kidnapping.

“I would like to thank all agencies and the District Attorney’s Office for their hard work in bringing closure and justice in Graham’s murder investigation. It is my hope this sentencing will bring some closure to (the) Graham family,” said Sampson County Sheriff Jimmy Thornton.
