Music For The Lunch Bunch Announces 42nd Season

SMITHFIELD, N.C. – A longtime Johnston County summer tradition will return this month as Music for the Lunch Bunch begins its 42nd season in Smithfield.

The free lunchtime concert series will feature six performances by local musicians beginning June 17 at First Presbyterian Church, located at 215 South Third Street. Concerts will be held Wednesdays at 12:15 p.m. and run approximately 30 minutes.

This year’s lineup includes:

  • June 17 — Kwan Ye and Holden Burroughs, piano
  • June 24 — Greg Honeycutt, vocals
  • July 8 — Dara Edwards, piano
  • July 15 — Dexter Ruffin, piano
  • July 22 — Angelique Alexander, vocals
  • July 29 — Jonathan Levin, piano

Organizers said the series features a variety of musical styles with a particular emphasis on classical music.

Music for the Lunch Bunch is supported through grassroots funding from the Johnston County Arts Council and the North Carolina Arts Council.

Admission is free, although donations are accepted.
