NCDMV Voids License Of Advance Driving School Of The Piedmont
ROCKY MOUNT – The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles (NCDMV) has issued a Cease-and-Desist Order for all operations of Advance Driving School of the Piedmont, effective immediately. The company may no longer operate as a commercial driver training school in North Carolina.
The action follows an investigation that found the business in violation of multiple North Carolina General Statutes and Administrative Code rules. Violations included failure to notify the Division of the purchase of the business, failure to file an application with the Division before beginning operation under the new ownership and failure to surrender the current business license issued to Advance Driving School of the Piedmont within five days of beginning the new ownership.
NCDMV has since voided the business license and all associated instructor licenses. The business and all associated instructors therefore can no longer conduct business. Advance Driving School of the Piedmont will be eligible to apply for a new business license and associated instructor licenses beginning on Oct. 6, 2027.
The Division has directed the company to surrender all outstanding licenses within five days. Any documentation from Advance Driving School of the Piedmont dated before Oct. 6, 2026 will be accepted at NCDMV driver license offices, provided the student has the correct documentation and has passed the required tests.
Affected customers who have other concerns related to this matter are encouraged to contact the NCDMV School Bus and Traffic Safety Unit via this Contact Form.
The Division remains committed to protecting consumers and upholding standards for commercial driver education programs in North Carolina.
