The Smith-Bryan chapter of the National Daughters of the American Revolution has honored Neuse Charter Senior Caitlin Miller as a Good Citizens Award winner at their February 10th breakfast meeting.
The DAR Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest, created in 1934, is intended to encourage and reward High School seniors who show good citizenship. This award recognizes individuals who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities.
The Good Citizen nominee must write an essay as part of the award process. This year’s topic was “How has America advanced the cause of freedom in the rest of the world?”
As the recipient of the award for Neuse Charter School, Caitlin received a Good Citizen pin, certificate and cash award.
The Smith-Bryan chapter wishes Caitlin much success as she graduates from school and heads to college.
