Neuse Charter School Welcomes The Freedom 250 Mobile Museum
SMITHFIELD, N.C. – History is coming to Neuse Charter School, and the entire community is invited.
On Sunday, November 1, Neuse Charter School will welcome the Freedom 250 Mobile Museum to campus for a one-day-only, free public event. Commissioned by Freedom 250, a national, nonpartisan organization leading the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, six Freedom Truck mobile museums are traveling across the United States throughout 2026. Neuse Charter School is proud to host one of these traveling museums, bringing this unique experience to Johnston County.
“We are honored that Neuse Charter School was selected to host the Freedom 250 Mobile Museum, and we are excited to share this experience with our entire community,” said Dr. Melissa Blackwell, Superintendent of Neuse Charter School.
Inside the Freedom Truck, visitors can discover the stories of the men and women who helped shape our nation, sign their names to the Declaration of Independence, try cracking a code inspired by George Washington’s spy ring, and explore the American spirit of innovation and achievement.
The Freedom Truck will be open to the public from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, November 1st, at Neuse Charter School, 909 M. Durwood Stephenson Parkway, Smithfield, NC.
Admission is free, and everyone is invited to attend.
Neuse Charter School is the only independently governed and operated K-12 charter school in Johnston County.
