New CommWell Health Center To Bring More Than 40 Jobs To Coats

COATS, N.C. — CommWell Health will celebrate the start of construction on its new Coats Community Health Center with a groundbreaking ceremony.

The ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at the future site of the facility, 238 E. Stewart St. in Coats. The event is open to the public and media.

The new multi-specialty health center is expected to open in 2027 and will provide a range of healthcare services for residents of Coats and surrounding communities in Harnett County.

According to CommWell Health, the new facility will offer primary care, family medicine, dental services and telehealth behavioral health services for patients of all ages.

The health center is also expected to bring more than 40 clinical, professional and support jobs to Coats and throughout Harnett County.

Until construction is complete, CommWell Health is continuing to provide patient services from the Coats Senior Center, allowing healthcare services to remain available to the community during the transition.

In addition to the ceremonial groundbreaking, the Aug. 14 event will include refreshments, giveaways and an opportunity for residents to meet members of the healthcare team who will serve patients at the new facility.

The permanent health center is expected to expand access to medical, dental and behavioral health services in northern Harnett County while providing a long-term home for CommWell Health’s Coats operations.
