Newton Grove Police Chief Resigns Following Arrest

NEWTON GROVE — Newton Grove Police Chief Greg Warren has resigned from his position, town officials announced Tuesday, days after his arrest on multiple felony charges.
In a statement released Tuesday, the Town of Newton Grove said it has received Warren’s resignation and that he is no longer employed by the town, effective immediately.
Town officials said they have taken all necessary steps to ensure there is no lapse in law enforcement services. Police operations and public safety services will continue without interruption, according to the statement.
Warren’s resignation comes after he was arrested Jan. 7 following an investigation by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. The SBI was asked to assist by the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office after it received allegations involving Warren.
According to the SBI, the investigation resulted in Warren being charged with seven felony offenses, including one count of indecent liberties with a minor and six counts of felony secret peeping. The investigation remains ongoing.
Warren remains in custody and is being held without bond.

Law enforcement. Sad. And I told my kids to look up to them. 🙁
You know there are bad eggs when you have a lot of eggs. Don’t throw out all the eggs. There are many good Law Enforcement Officers doing the right thing everyday. This is a matter of the heart and allowing sin to control.
