Candy Evans

Candy Folb Yeatts Evans was born on January 25, 1964 and passed away on March 22, 2026. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Bill Evans, and her mother, Francis Folb. She leaves behind her father, Frank Folb, her daughter Kristen Talbert (Scott), her son Will Evans, two grandchildren (Miller Talbert and Gwen Talbert), her sisters Tammy Tinsley (Bruce) and Missy Bracher (Pat), and her brother Frank Folb Jr. (Sheri).
Candy dedicated her life to helping others, especially her students. She served as a speech language pathologist with Hyde County Schools and Dare County Schools for over 20 years where she worked with students with a variety of communication disorders and learning disabilities. She then went on to receive her teaching license and taught in a variety of special education settings including as a reading interventionist and as a special education classroom teacher. She impacted countless lives, not only of her students but also her colleagues.
Although Candy loved teaching and working with students, her favorite role was wife, mother, daughter, sister, and neighbor. She loved to cook big pots of Hatteras style clam chowder or chili for her family and have them all sit around her harvest table for a family feast. She also loved being the family organizer and kept track of the family’s memorabilia and photos. Most of all, she loved the role of “Mimi” to Miller and Gwen, and often accompanied them to the playground, swim lessons, and all kinds of outings.
If there could be one Bible verse to sum up Candy’s life it would be: “Many women have done excellently but you surpass them all” (Proverbs 31:29).
Donations may be made on Candy’s behalf to the Buxton United Methodist Church. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
