Benson, NC: Mr. Carl Casteen “Junior” Denning, Jr., age 76, of East Harnett Street passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Benson surrounded by his loving family. Graveside Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM Friday, February 9, 2024 at Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn. Officiating will be Mr. Robie Clifton and Mr. Sammy Wilkins.
Mr. Denning was born on November 15, 1947 in Harnett County to the late Carl C. Denning, Sr. and Catherine Lexine Dean Lucas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia “Sib” Bryant Denning. Mr. Denning retired from Willis Lee Paint and Wallpaper as a painter. He enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his daughter, Christy Denning of Benson; sister, Brenda Allen and husband, Connie of Coats; brother, Billy Denning and wife, Mary of Benson; several special nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to New Zealand Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, P. O. Box 234, Newton Grove, NC 28366.
