Hayley Nicole Barbour

Hayley Nicole Barbour, born in Wake County and raised in Johnston County, passed away on August 31, 2024, at the young age of 29. Hayley was a vibrant soul who was full of life. Her love for animals was matched only by her dedication to caring for them. As a devoted caregiver with The Arc of North Carolina she took great joy in looking after a special young lady each day.

Hayley cherished her family deeply. She was a loving twin to her sister, Hannah, and a beloved aunt to Anna Jean, Kinsley, and a new nephew, (Nicholas Paul) on the way. Her warm heart and willingness to help others extended to everyone she knew, making her a cherished member of her family and community.

A proud graduate of NJHS in 2013, Hayley’s legacy of kindness and compassion will be remembered fondly by her family: her mother, Wanda Mitchell, father, Linwood Barbour, sister, Hannah Glover, (husband Travis), brother, Brandon Barbour, (wife Autumn), aunt/uncle Emma Hare, (husband Jason) Wesley Mitchell, (wife Anita) and cousins, Jordan Lamm, Jacob Lamm, Garrett Mitchell, Tyler Mitchell and Luke Mitchell. Hayley also leaves behind a beloved fur baby. Hayley will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew her.

She also held a special place in her heart for her grandparents whom preceded her in death (Paul & Jean Mitchell), whose influence and love shaped her loving heart for others. She is also preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, David & Peggy Barbour.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with the burial to follow in Micro Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday night from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
