Hilda Adams Pittman

    Hilda Adams Pittman of Pine Level went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 19, 2022. She was born on April 9, 1929 to Clarence and Annie Adams. She married D. A. Pittman on December 9, 1944.

    Hilda was an employee of the Gerold Plant for several years and then Westinghouse in Raleigh for more than 20 years. When she retired from Westinghouse, she enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for others and was known for her Whoopie pies. She also enjoyed sewing, working in her yard and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Pine Level Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed the bus trips with her church family. Hilda also enjoyed being with her friends especially going out for lunches.

    Hilda was preceded in death by her husband D. A. Pittman on January 29, 2003, her parents and a brother, Billy Adams.

    She is survived by her daughters, Ginger Haines and husband Michael of Four Oaks, Vicki Smith and husband Rusty of Pine Level and Judy Reed and husband Charles of Middlesex; five grandchildren, Michelle Campbell (Jimmy) of Millington, TN, Kelley Crouder (Garrett) of Cornersville, TN, Taylor Haines and (fiancé, William) of Anderson, SC, Trevor Haines of Myrtle Beach, SC and Tristen Haines of Wilmington; five great grandchildren, Noah Campbell, Thomas Campbell, Patrick Campbell, Shelby Campbell and Emme Crouder and her brother, Jimmy Adams and wife Nancy of Rosewood.

    A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery, Highway 70-E, Princeton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Parrish Funeral Home in Selma and at other times will be at the home of Ginger Haines, 240 Lakeview Hills Drive, Four Oaks and the home of Vicki Smith, 109 Dogwood Lane in Pine Level.

    Those that cared for her in the end so enjoyed her precious smile and thankfulness. And a Special Thank You to the 3 angels who were so loving and loyal to our mother, Elaine Lee, Wanda Johnson and Joann Capps. “We love you and mom did too!”
