Jennifer “Jenny” Jean Johnson, 67, of Carolina Beach, passed away unexpectedly on December 3, 2024, with her family by her side, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Born on January 14, 1957, in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Shelby Jean Byrd and Sir William Johnson Jr.

Jennifer worked as a child nutrition manager for Johnston County Schools until her retirement, when she moved to Carolina Beach to foster her love for the beach and fishing. Jennifer was a strong woman who loved fiercely. She was ‘Mama’ to her loved ones and ‘Granny’ to everyone. Jennifer left a legacy of love behind and will be missed dearly by everyone who knew her. Jennifer was active with Al-Anon, helping and supporting others during difficult times. She loved animals, leaving behind her beloved dogs, Cody and Peaches.

Jennifer is survived by her sons, Christopher Ray Johnson of Four Oaks and Joseph Wayne Joseph of Smithfield; daughter, Angela Kay Moore of Pine Level; companion, Russell Morgan of Carolina Beach; sisters, Tammy Rose Johnson of Benson and Ereica Gayle Johnson of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Kandace (Justin), Colton, Orion, Hope (Danny), Will, Anna(Austin), Jaden, Isaac, and Braeden; great-grandchildren, Colton, Cayden, and Maxton.

A visitation to celebrate Jennifer’s life will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 5:00pm-7:00pm, at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. Flowers are appreciated.
