BENSON – Joseph Charles “Joe” Johnson, age 83, died Monday evening at his home. Born in Morgantown, WV he was a son of the late Joseph and Eleanor Johnson and brother to the late Mary Johnson Joslin and husband, George Joslin. Joe started with the A & P Tea Company as a meat cutter and worked his way up to Meat Supervisor, overseeing stores in five states.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, February 3, 2024 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Coleman Elliott officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00, just prior to the service.
Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Brenda C. Johnson; daughters, Lesa Davis of Newport News, VA and Sheryl Meekings and husband Scott of Sandpoint, ID; half-sisters, Jo Ellen McGee and husband Louis of Burlington, WV and Ann Bennett of Point Marion, PA and two grandchildren, Tyler Davis and Grace Meekings.
In lieu of flowers that family asks that memorial contributions be made to either, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Jimmy Swaggart Ministries
