Linwood Earl Hines

    Birth Date: 07/31/1945
    Deceased Date: 04/20/2022

Linwood Earl “John” Hines, Sr., 76, passed away at home on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, surrounded by his family.

His story began on July 31, 1945, when he was born to Joel Earl and Ruth Edgerton Hines. From a young age, family was very important to him, and he definitely had the value of hard work instilled in him. Farming was a big part of his life and that definitely was something that continued on throughout his life.

Eventually, he met and married the love of his life, Raemell Best Hines, on November 18, 1965. Together, they would create a family of their own that John cherished greatly. John’s infamous work ethic was well-known throughout the local community and instilled in his children, something they each still talk about to this day. John was a jack of all trades; if you need something done, he knew how to do it and was ready to help. If you visited his farm, you could always find him either on a tractor, caring for his animals, or keeping everything in place and beautiful.

In time, his children grew up and gave him and Raemell the most wonderful gift: grandchildren. John, also known as “Pa”, was crazy over his grandkids and always made sure to give them time. He was quick to fry an egg or make some cheese toast for them, and loved playing games with them. As he progressed in years, he enjoyed visits from family and friends as well as enjoyed reading the Bible and having discussions on what he read. You could guarantee to hear his trademark “oh yeah” at some point during any conversation you had with him.

John was preceded in death by both of his parents, as well as his siblings Merlin Gray and Bobby Ray Hines. He is survived by his wife, Raemell Best Hines, and his 3 children: Tammy Hines Corbin and husband Billy, Linwood Earl Hines, Jr. and wife Beth, and Lori Hines King. Surviving siblings include his sisters Brenda Braswell, Peggy Hart, and Nina Cockrell and husband Keith. His memory will also be kept alive by his 5 grandchildren: Dustin King, Brittany Peele, Noah Corbin, Joel Hines, and Erika Hines. He also leaves behind many friends and neighbors that he undoubtedly left a strong impression on. He will surely be missed.

A memorial service will be held at Parrish Funeral Home on Tuesday April 26, 2022 at 2 PM. The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1 PM to 2 PM.
