Dunn, NC: Mrs. Lula Belle Cochran Bush, age 73, passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be 3:00PM-Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at St. Mary’s Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church outside Benson, NC. Rev. Wesley Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson, NC.
Mrs. Bush was born on July 1, 1948 in Georgia to the late Jake and Ora Belle Hendrix Cochran. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Douglas Bush, brothers, John Wayne and Larry Cochran and a special friend, Joyce Clifton. Mrs. Bush retired from Guilford Mills in Fuquay Varina, NC. Following retirement, she was a retail clerk for a local business. She was also a homemaker and was a member of St. Mary’s Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church outside Benson, NC. She loved the Lord, her family, especially her great-grandchildren, and enjoyed cross word puzzles.
Surviving include her daughters, Caletta Bush and fiancé, Robert Cunningham, Katherine Blatt and husband, David; grandchildren, Christina Johnson and husband, Dallas, Jakelynn Brown and fiancé, Mike Ruggels, Tabitha Brown and wife, Haley, and Joseph Stancil; great-grandchildren, Remington Johnson, Autumn Johnson and Mariellen Johnson; sisters, Mary Ann Oreshack and husband, John, Jean Weise and husband, John, and Juanita Insley and husband, Lee; brothers, Rufus Cochran and wife, Bang, and Ray Cochran; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6:00PM-8:00PM, Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC and other times at the home.
