Marvin Donald Chappell

    Kenly- Marvin “Donald” Chappell, age 67, passed away at his home in Kenly on Friday, May 6, 2022. Born in Johnston County on August 20, 1954, he was the son to the late Marvin Chappell and Edith Jean Worley Chappell.

    Donald was a Mason at St. Patrick’s Masonic Lodge #617 in Princeton and served on both the Clayton and Princeton Fire and Rescue in his earlier years. Donald also owned and operated Chappell’s Auto Salvage in Clayton, Selma, and Princeton. His hobbies included traveling, working Don’s concession stand, and dealing antiques and cast iron. Donald was a people person and enjoyed talking and getting to know others, he was said to have never met a stranger.

    A graveside service will be held at Johnson Cemetery at 80 Ballpark Rd, Selma, on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends at Scottie and Amanda’s at 971 Bagley Road, Kenly.

    Donald is survived by his significant other of 22 years, Julie Kauth of Kenly; daughters, Amanda Biedekapp and special son, Scottie Johnson of Princeton; Heather Chappell of Washington D.C.; sisters, Teresa Chappell of Princeton; Dianne Chappell of Princeton; and grandchildren, Miranda Hardison, Matthew Biedekapp, Madison Biedekapp, Cameron Johnson, Samantha Johnson, and Jamie Johnson.
