Nan Mumford Fields

Nan Mumford Fields, 94, entered into rest on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Arbor Landing of Hampstead. Born on October 18, 1930 in Wayne County, she was daughter to Cecil Mumford and Anna Belle Sauls Mumford.

Along with her husband and children, Nan moved to Kenly in 1960. She was an active member of Kenly Methodist Church and Kenly Garden Club for over 50 years. She was well known as Johnston County’s Avon Lady for 30 years.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Kenly Funeral Service. A service to honor her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Paul Dunham officiating. Interment will conclude at the Kenly Cemetery.

Nan is survived by her son, Robert “Mike” Fields and wife, Patricia; her daughter, Becky Fields; granddaughter, Staci Pierce and husband, Branson; great-grandchildren, Trey and Taylor Pierce; and her niece, Percy Ann Edmundson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Fields; her sister, Judy Thompson; and her brother, Richard “Dick” Mumford.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff of Arbor Landing of Hampstead, the staff of New Estuary Home Care and the staff of Amedisys for their love and care.
