Romy James Lacombe, age 2, passed away early Wednesday morning, March 23, 2022 at his home. Born November 22, 2019 in Wake County he was a son of Thomas and Sara Mays Lacombe. Romy had a short but happy, powerful life. He traveled with his family and had every adventure possible. His life has had an impact on people near and far. He loved sloths, his link animals, being tickled by his mom and dad, laying with his sister, sharing his brother’s iPad and singing with his grandparents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Clayton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his siblings, Aaron Lacombe, Isabella Price, Micah Lacombe, Matthew Lacombe and Sawyer Lacombe; paternal grandmother, Cheri Pfieffer; maternal grandparents, Dennis and Becky Mays; paternal aunt, Shannon Lacombe; paternal uncle, Nicholas Lacombe (Kari); and maternal uncles, Josh Mays (Emily) and Matt Mays (Jennifer). Romy was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John Pfieffer.
Special thanks to the PDN nurses from Aveanna, Jessica Becker and Holly Carr for helping care for our sweet boy. To our PT/OT teams you hold a special place in our hearts. Lastly, to the staff of Transitions Kids Hospice, thank you for traveling the past 2 ½ years with us.
A garden is being established in Romy’s memory at his home. While all flowers are appreciated, the family requests that perennials be sent for use in Romy’s memorial garden. This will be a place of comfort and reverence for us for years to come.
