Benson, NC: Mrs. Vickie Elizabeth Byrd Pope, age 71, of Byrdtown Road passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Duke University Hospital. Funeral Services will be held-2:00 PM Monday, May 13, 2024 at Benson PFWB Church. Officiating will be Pastor Glenn McCullen. Burial will follow in Dixon Family Cemetery in Benson.

Mrs. Pope was born on October 19, 1952 in Johnston County to the late Tyson Cleo and Rebecca Stephenson Byrd. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jared Pope and brother, Roy Franklin Byrd. Prior to retirement, she was a lab technician with the North Carolina State Animal Laboratory. Mrs. Pope was loving person with a servant’s heart, she loved to talk, enjoyed spending time with her church family, and loved her family more than anything, especially her grandsons.

Surviving is her husband of 51 years, Mitchell Pope; son, Casey Pope and wife, Anna; and grandsons, Cason Pope and Ryder Pope.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday May 12, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
