Charles Jackson, 75, of Smithfield, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. Charles was born in Johnston County on April 16, 1946 to the late Lewis Martin Jackson and Cornelia Callie Peedin.

In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Jackson, Larry Jackson, Johnny Mac Jackson, and Jimmy Jackson; sisters, Helen Odom Jackson, Joyce Byrd.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Jacobs Jackson; daughters, Kim Jackson of Smithfield, Tammy Parrish of Smithfield; sons, Craig Lawhon of Smithfield, Robin Mills of Smithfield; brothers, Aaron Jackson of Clayton and Ray Jackson of Smithfield; sisters, Ann Parrish of Smithfield, Benda Woodard of Smithfield; grandchildren, Damien Jackson, Kabrea D. Charles was a loving father, husband, and Pa. He retired from Johnston Memorial Hospital in June 2013. He had a passion of painting anything he could put paint on, cars, houses and even his custom-made grill he built with his brother Jerry and other family. He always had to be working and helping with any project that came up and likewise had many friends and loved ones that would welcome spending a day with him building something. There isn’t much he couldn’t build if he put his mind to it and whenever he made up his mind he worked nonstop until he felt it “looked good.” He loved his Sunday dinners where he cooked Chicken Pastry and potato salad and anyone was welcome to fix a plate and spend a day or even spend the night. He would always say “don’t rush off now.” He will be surely missed but precious memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who know and loved him.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations in Princeton.
