Selma – Franklin Earl Jones, age 68, passed away on January 2, 2021, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 30, 1952, a son of the late Franklin and Sally Adelle Jones, in Johnston County. He is preceded in death by his brother William Glenn Jones and his brother-in-law, Rusty Heath. During his life he was known for his humor and all his jokes, he could make anyone laugh. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, racing cars, and going to races. He was also a loving husband, father, and brother.
A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the Deans Family Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Mrs. Violet Parrish Jones, son Stacy Glenn Jones (girlfriend Carrie Lyn Grice) of Selma, brothers, Harold Jones (wife Betty Lou) of Selma, sisters, Lib Braswell (husband Ricky) of Princeton, Betty Heath of Selma, Janice Massey (husband Bobby Jean) of Princeton, step-grandchildren, Julia Evans, Rebecca Evans, nephews, Travis Braswell (wife Patient), Brent Strickland, Stephen Jones, David Jones, and Bobby Jean Massey Jr.
