Jack Robert “Bobby” Owens, Jr. 68, son of the late Jack and Polly Coggins Owens passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019. A Navy veteran, Bobby was a member of Granite Lodge #191, Scottish Rite Bodies of NC and the Amran Shriners. He was also a certified judge with the KCBS and enjoyed cooking for friends and competing in barbecue events throughout the state and region.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie H. Owens; son, Jeff Marbrey and his wife Shannon of Garner; daughters, Jennifer Callaham, Amber Owens Thomas and her husband Stephen of Selma; a sister, Paula Owens of Carrboro; grandchildren, Madison, Taylor, Jack and Mason.
A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 10:00am in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with military honors and masonic rites. A gathering of friends will follow the service at the funeral home.
