Angier, NC: Mrs. Nancy Lee King Nelms, age 83, of NC 210 Hwy, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at UNC Johnston Health in Clayton. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Providence Presbyterian Church in Angier. Officiating will be Rev. Nadia Stropich. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Nelms was born on December 5, 1936 in Johnston County to the late Valmond and Sarah Annie Stephenson King. She retired from Rex Hospital after 38 years of service as a nurse and was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church.
Surviving include her husband of 61 years, Thomas Melvin Nelms; children, David Nelms and wife, Lisa of Angier, Mark Nelms and wife, Pam of Angier, Phyllis Davis and husband, Eric of Burlington; grandchildren, Ryan Nelms and wife, Allison, Christina Jones and husband, Eric, Kendall Nelms; great-grandchildren, Dylan Jones, Brock Nelms, Baylee Nelms; sister, Ann Stephenson of Angier; nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held on Monday, October 19, 2020 from 12:00PM-5:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC. The family will not be present during this time.
The Family will receive friends in the lower fellowship hall following the committal service on Tuesday.
In accordance with the current NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W’s: wait, wash and wear a face covering. A mask is required for the service on Tuesday.
