Planning Board To Consider 4 Subdivisions

The Johnston County Planning Board will meet next week to consider requests for four subdivisions totaling 237 lots.

The largest request is for 195 lots on 203.65 acres on Reedy Creek Road near Lassiter Road in Elevation township.  The lots are for the proposed Beverly Subdivision.

20 lots are proposed in the Edward Tract subdivision on Highway 96 approximately one-half mile north of Earpsboro Road in O’Neals Township. The lots would be located on 19.69 acres.

20 lots are proposed on 24.46 acres in the Medlin Tract subdivision on Lake Wendell Road about one-fourth of a mile east of Wall Road in Wilders Township.

Two lots are being sought on 3.17 acres in the Tanner Builders subdivision on Earpsboro Road one-half mile west of Highway 39 in O’Neals Township.

The Planning Board will also hear a request to rezone 8.005 acres out of a 66 acre tract at 14471 NC Highway 50 in Cleveland Township from Agricultural Residential (AR) to General Business (GB).  The property is owned by Brack Penny Road Limited Partnership.

The Board will also vote on a request to grant a two-year zoning approval extension to 35 acres at 2702 Old Rock Quarry Road in Boon Hill Township. The property, owned by James and Sherry Worley, is currently zoned Industrial 2 – Special Use District. The special use permit was previously granted to allow for a solar utility facility.

The Planning Board will meet on Tuesday, April 17th at 6:00pm in the Commissioners Meeting Room at the Johnston County Courthouse in Smithfield. The meeting is open to the public.
