The Selma Police Department has received $9,000 worth of items from the Governors Highway Safety Program (GHSP) to help officers enforce the law, including speeders and impaired drivers.

This week the department received two radar units, four flashlights, alco-sensors, and window tint meters from the GHSP based on the department’s recent efforts by holding checkpoints and participating in the Click It or Ticket seat belt enforcement campaigns.

Sgt. T.L. Avery, the GHSP coordinator for the Selma Police Department said, “It is all about highway safety, reducing injuries and keeping impaired drivers off the streets.”
