Recognize Your Hero During Clayton Rotary’s “Flags for Heroes” Tribute

CLAYTON – Over 100 American flags will be flying alongside Highway 42 West near Johnston Health from June 28th to July 4th to allow the community to recognize their heroes. The Rotary Club of Clayton and the Rotary Club of Clayton Mid-Day have joined together to plan this special tribute to Honor our Heroes.

Each 3 foot by 5 foot American flag will be on a 10 foot pole. Sponsors can order a commemorative medallion to be attached to the flag that displays their hero’s name. Those who order a medallion can keep it once the patriotic display has concluded on July 5. You can sponsor a flag individually or as a corporate sponsor at www.ClaytonRotaryClub.org. The deadline to be a sponsor is June 15, 2020.

“God Bless America and the many people in our lives that are heroes to us,” said Leigh Hudson, organizer of the event. “In today’s climate, patriotism for our Veterans, health care workers, and first responders feels stronger than ever. Flying a field of flags will show our pride and appreciation for their efforts” Leigh mentioned to business that “Corporate sponsors are welcome to support this highly visible and patriotic tribute.’

Your hero might be the grocery store clerk, someone who sewed masks, a delivery driver or anyone who you feel has stepped up or has a special place in your heart.

The sponsorship cost with a medallion is $55 or $50 without a medallion.  A $1,000 Platinum sponsor receives 10 flags with a medallion, a $500 Gold sponsor receives 5 flags with a medallion and a $250 Silver sponsor receives 3 flags with a medallion. All sponsorships can be made through a Clayton Rotarian or at http://www.claytonrotaryclub.org/.

Proceeds from this event will help fund numerous Rotary Club service projects in the community.  For more information email claytonrotaryevents@gmail.com or call 919-827-1832.
