CLAYTON – A Johnston County school bus collided with a small SUV on Buffalo Road just north of Highway 42 East. The Thursday evening accident caused minor injuries but major traffic congestion.
None of the three Early College students or driver of the bus were injured.
Johnston County EMS checked out the occupants in the SUV, who suffered minor injuries, but none were transported to the hospital.
The busy northbound lanes of Buffalo Road at the Flower’s Crossing Shopping Center were closed for nearly an hour, leading to heavy rush-hour delays in the area.
Following the investigation, the bus was able to drive away under its own power.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol investigated the mishap.
