Dunn Man Charged With Rape

JOHNSTON COUNTY – A 22 year-old Dunn man has been charged with second-degree rape. Jacob Kyle Lee, of Timothy Road, was arrested Feb. 13 by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.

On January 30, 2024 a report was filed with the sheriff’s office about the alleged sexual assault.

According to the arrest warrant the victim “…was physically helpless and the person performing the act knew or should have reasonably known that the other person was physically helpless.”

According to the arrest warrant the alleged assault occurred Jan. 26, 2024. The location of the assault was not disclosed.

Authorities said the victim and suspect were acquaintances.

On Feb. 14, Lee was released on a $50,000 bond pending his next court appearance.
