Selma Man Killed In E-Bike Crash Near Pine Level

PINE LEVEL, N.C. – A 70-year-old Selma man was killed Saturday night when the electric bicycle he was riding was struck by a car on Davis Mill Road.

The crash was reported around 8:52 p.m. in the 800 block of Davis Mill Road.

The N.C. State Highway Patrol identified the victim as Jackie Edward Norris of Selma.

Troopers said Norris was traveling south on an electric bicycle while a silver Toyota Corolla was traveling north.

For an unknown reason, troopers said Norris crossed left of center and entered the path of the Toyota. The car struck the bicycle in the roadway.

The teenage driver of the Toyota was not injured, and no charges were filed. The driver’s name was not released because the driver is under 18.
