Selma Proclaims Sept. 7-13 First Responders Appreciation Week

SELMA, N.C. – Selma police officers and firefighters were recognized as town officials proclaimed Sept. 7-13 as First Responders Appreciation Week.
A number of members of the Selma Police Department and Selma Fire Department attended the Sept. 3 Town Council meeting for the recognition, along with Police Chief Justin Vause and Fire Chief Brannan Barbee.
Mayor Byron McAllister presented the proclamation recognizing first responders for their service to Selma and the risks they face while responding to emergencies.
The proclamation notes that first responders provide immediate assistance during a wide range of emergencies.
“Your level of professionalism and expertise is noticeable and impressive,” Mayor McAllister said.
