Shooting Ruled Accidental

A shooting that injured a Micro man last week has been ruled accidental.

Around 2:15am last Friday, the 34 year-old victim was cleaning his 22 caliber Ruger rifle when it discharged striking him in the foot.

The victim said he thought the gun was unloaded.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury.

Johnston County deputies responded to the call in the Micro city limits because the small town is still without a full time police chief.
