Siblings Seriously Injured In Crash

A violent single vehicle crash Tuesday night injured three teenage siblings.  The crash occurred at 8:15PM on Short Journey Road between Swift Creek Road and Cleveland Road.

Initial reports indicate an unlicensed 18 year old sister was driving on Short Journey Road when she lost control of her GMC Yukon in a curve, drove of the right side of the road, overcorrected, drove into a ditch on the left side of the road and went airborne. The SUV then rolled over 4 times, ejecting the two young passengers.

A 13 year old boy suffered life threatening injuries according to the NC Highway Patrol. His 14 year old sister also suffered serious injuries.  Both were rushed to Wake Medical Center.

The driver was conscious and alert following the crash. She was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

A Johnston County first responder unit happened upon the crash seconds after it occurred.

The NC Highway Patrol is still investigating and has not released the names of those involved or what charges they driver may face.
