South Johnston High Boiler Replacement Will Cost $740,000

FOUR OAKS – A $740,000 bid was awarded at the March 14 school board meeting to replace the boiler at South Johnston High School. According to a presentation by Brooks Moore, Chief of Facilities and Construction, the current boiler is outdated, runs on fuel oil, and is no longer able to handle the current HVAC needs at the campus.

Comfort Systems LLC was the lowest of two firms that submitted bids for the replacement project. ESSER Funds will pay for the new boiler.

  1. I know a company that would have done it for $739,999.98 and would have run on cow methane. Why is the school board so free with our money.

  2. Do you remember the school board having over 100 million dollars of federal covid-19 relief funds to spend by 2024 or lose it? You are going to see alot of this crazy congress like spending going on with this school board inorder to deplete this 100’s of millions of dollars before 2024. Then they will be holding out thier hands for more of your local property tax dollars screaming how the children are suffering by you creedy tax payers, that is why Lyn “Ma” Andrews and $180-K-Carroll was discussing on the audio tape to why they needed to hide the money!!!

  3. Perhaps they could use that money to entice good teachers to the county….after seeing the 11 pages of openings I think they could use a little help
