Southern JoCo Women’s Show Returns Thursday To Support Harbor

CLAYTON — More than 40 vendors will gather Thursday at The Clayton Center for the third annual Southern JoCo Women’s Show, an event supporting Harbor, Inc., Johnston County’s domestic violence and sexual assault services provider.

The free event will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at The Clayton Center, 111 E. Second St. The first 150 people through the door will receive a free swag bag.

The event will also include a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, raffle prizes, a DJ and cash bar.

Attendees are encouraged to bring gently used purses, jewelry and accessories to donate.

Harbor has served Johnston County for more than 40 years, providing emergency shelter, crisis intervention, court advocacy, sexual assault advocacy, support groups and other services for adults, children and families affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.

The organization reported serving 3,165 survivors during the 2024-25 fiscal year, up from 2,738 two years earlier.

During the same fiscal year, Harbor answered 682 crisis calls and assisted 1,259 court advocacy clients.

Court advocacy services include helping survivors navigate protective orders, court proceedings, legal resources and safety planning.

The organization provides 24-hour crisis intervention and emergency assistance, along with shelter for individuals and families fleeing violence.

Admission to Thursday’s Southern JoCo Women’s Show is free.
