An arrest has been made in a serious assault in northern Johnston County. Around 10:00pm Friday, deputies responded to a home in the 6300 block of Applewhite Road where a 56 year-old man was allegedly beaten.
Donnie Russell Bryant, 51, of Applewhite Road, Wendell has been charged by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office with felony assault inflicting serious bodily injury. Bryant was confined in the Johnston County Jail under a $40,000 secured bond.
Alcohol may have played a factor in the altercation.
