Suspect Charged After Kenly-Area Assault, Break-In

KENLY — A Wayne County man has been charged in connection with a reported break-in and assault at a Johnston County home.
Michael Marquel Williams, 29, of Goldsboro, was charged following an incident reported at about 4:33 a.m. Dec. 28 at a residence on Bald Eagle Lane outside of Kenly.
Authorities allege Williams unlawfully entered the home, which was occupied by a 29-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man, and assaulted the male occupant. The woman is described as Williams’ ex-girlfriend.
An estimated $150 in damage was reported to a wall and a chair inside the residence during the incident.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office charged Williams with felony breaking and entering with intent to terrorize or injure and misdemeanor assault inflicting serious injury. He was given a $60,000 secured bond.
